The House Committee on Appropriations, chaired by Rep. Isidro Ungab (3rd District, Davao City) tackled on Monday the P20.18 billion proposed budget of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for fiscal year 2020. The amount is P79.85 million lower than its 2019 allocation of P20.26 billion. The hearing was presided by Committee Vice Chairperson Rep. Micaela Violago (2nd District, Nueva Ecija). DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña led the department and presented some of its major initiatives in research and development.
